Freedom Clicker Beginner's Guide

Your first hour, step by step · All guides · Play

Freedom Clicker is a free idle/incremental game: you click a caricature to earn a fictional currency called MAGA$, spend it on buildings that earn for you automatically, and climb nine escalating eras of political satire toward (of course) world domination. There is no account, no download, and nothing to install — it runs in your browser and saves automatically. Here is exactly what to do in your first hour.

Minutes 1–5: click and buy your first building

Click the figure. Each click earns MAGA$. As soon as you have 15, buy a Red Cap Volunteer — your first source of automatic income. Keep clicking and buy a second, then a third. This is the core loop of the entire game: click, buy something that earns for you, use those earnings to buy more.

Minutes 5–15: spread out and grab click upgrades

Don't pour everything into one building. Each additional copy costs 15% more than the last, so it is almost always better to buy the next cheapest different building than a tenth copy of the same one. When the Tremendous Thumbs upgrade appears (after 25 clicks), buy it — it doubles your click power — and do the same for the Golden Escalator.

Minutes 15–30: reach the second era

Once your lifetime earnings hit 2,900 MAGA$, the Repeal & Replace era unlocks with three much stronger buildings. From here, follow one simple rhythm: buy the newest building, then top up your older ones toward their upgrade breakpoints (10, 50 and 100 owned each unlock a big multiplier).

The five things beginners get wrong

  1. Hoarding for one expensive building. Breadth beats depth early — buy wide.
  2. Ignoring old buildings. A tenth Red Cap unlocking a ×3 upgrade is one of the best-value buys in the game, even hours in.
  3. Skipping global upgrades. A ×2 on everything always beats another copy of one building. Buy globals the instant you can.
  4. Not clicking the shiny things. Golden Trumps, falling stars and pop-up events give frenzies and lump sums — always click them.
  5. Prestiging too early. Resetting for one Mandate point loses more than it gains; wait for 2–3. See the prestige guide.

Do I lose my progress if I close the tab?

No. Your save lives in your browser and the game keeps earning at 1/1000 speed while you are away. To move to another device, export your save from the settings menu (⚙) and import the file on the other one. There is no cloud save — the file is yours.
